International Synergies strengthens Northern Ireland team with new appointments

International Synergies has appointed Sustainable Business Practitioners Mark Elliott and Marie Nancarrow, along with Eilís Deeny as Administration and Digital Marketing Officer to meet the needs of its growing customer base.

The team in Northern Ireland continue to deliver the world’s longest-standing continuous national resource matching programme, funded by Invest NI. Through a combination of facilitation and customised business support, the team have enabled over 3,000 organisations in Northern Ireland to move to a more circular economy. As a result of the work that the team do to promote circularity and cross-sector collaboration, Northern Ireland has benefited from innovative solutions to waste streams, byproducts, surplus, redundant and residual resources. The team have delivered cost savings, additional sales from new resource streams, diverted waste from landfill and reduced the need for virgin material over a sustained period of time. Continued growth in the commercial demand for creative solutions to otherwise difficult resource flows has resulted in need for the expansion of the delivery team in Northern Ireland, led by Director Jacqueline Gibson.

Sustainable Business Practitioner Mark Elliott joins the business with a wealth of experience in agriculture, AgTech and start-ups. Mark is graduate of Harper Adams University and Greenmount Agricultural College. Prior to joining the business, he spent three years at start-up company, CropHound, developing soil and plant sensors enabling farmers and growers to achieve more sustainable and profitable farming practices.

Sustainable Business Practitioner Marie Nancarrow is a multi-award-winning sustainable designer and the founder of Titanic Denim, a brand focused on transforming denim and other textile waste into stylish, eco-conscious products. Her Rescued Denim Bag Collection showcases her innovative approach to repurposing materials with ISL NI playing a key role in sourcing the eco-friendly components.

Administration and Digital Marketing Officer Eilís Deeny joins the team with a strong background in administration, customer relations and a growing passion for supporting businesses in their transition to a low-carbon, circular economy. She has first-hand experience in environmental issues, having spent time as an arborist in Leinster. Eilís has a dual role as she also manages administrative operational matters for the team at the International Synergies Head Office in Birmingham.
