Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time with serious implications for long-term sustainability. International Synergies was chosen to design and deliver the G7’s first industrial symbiosis workshop in 2015 on behalf of the German and UK governments.

According to the International Resource Panel and World Business Council for Sustainable Development, addressing the Scope 3 carbon embedded in materials is critical to achieving net zero and resource efficiency is key to that goal: the impact of industrial symbiosis goes directly to the decarbonisation agenda, particularly the challenging Scope 3 which form the majority of emissions for nearly all sectors.
