WMRRN Construction Resource Matching Workshop- 17th July 2025
June 3, 2025 2 min read. EventsJoin us at the West Midlands Resource Reuse Network (WMRRN) Construction Resource Matching Workshop on Thursday 17th July 2025 (8.00am-11.00am) at the National Motorcycle Museum for a morning filled with networking and resource matching opportunities for businesses managing resources. This event is delivered by International Synergies Ltd in partnership with Sustainability West Midlands. The event is targeted at infrastructure providers and their construction supply chain.
The workshop builds upon the recently established West Midlands Resource Infrastructure Group (RIG) which has membership drawn from companies such as Balfour Beatty Vinci (HS2), Colas Rail (Midlands Metro), Severn Trent Water, Environment Agency Flood Defences, GEDA Construction, Avove, Barhale, Murphy Group, Galliford Try and Mott MacDonald Bentley.
What is this event about?
A resource matching workshop brings together construction businesses with a common goal in mind – to save money by improving the way they manage resources and waste materials across regional construction projects. This unique WMRRN event aims to enable businesses to identify new opportunities between delegates at the event through the matching of resources, including waste arisings (muck away, demolition waste, excavation arisings, soil etc.), unwanted construction products, energy and water.
The workshop is open to all construction businesses, or infrastructure providers of any size but, for this session we will also be having a priority focus on the identifying opportunities to exchange resources across our regional construction projects. This means the workshop will be particularly beneficial for companies and their supply chains within that sector.
This FREE in-person workshop will help your business to:
- Improve resource efficiency
- Reduce your cost and carbon footprint
- Identify new business opportunities
- Network with other likeminded businesses
The WMRRN team will facilitate a lively and interactive session that will allow companies to exchange details about waste streams they have on-site or want as a resource input. Remember to bring details of resources you wish to share or discuss on the day.
Who should attend?
Improving resource efficiency is common sense for business. Increasing waste disposal costs and growing public awareness of environmental issues means that incentives have never been greater for companies to find better ways to manage their wastes and underutilised resources.
If your organisation generates significant waste streams or requires large amounts of raw material, water or energy then this event is for you. In this session we will provide some additional emphasis on the construction sector. If you are a construction business in the West Midlands Combined Authority area, and would like to lower cost and carbon, increase sales and build business contacts with other companies then you should sign up for this FREE workshop.
The workshop is particularly suitable for project managers, site managers, environmental professionals and those with a knowledge of material flow requirements coming in and out of their construction sites.
