Vishwa Wijedasa

Commercial Manager

Vishwa has pan-sector experience with a strong track record in delivering high-impact, meaningful, common-sense based outcomes. Over 25 years, he has delivered client relationship management, key account management, business development and process improvement with a great attention to detail.

Following a role as Project Manager of an award-winning Knowledge Transfer Partnership between the University of the West of England and one of Europe’s largest plastic waste recycling businesses, Vishwa was promoted to the role of Manufacturing Systems Engineer at the plant.

Vishwa subsequently joined ISL as NISP Practitioner in the South West, supporting over 100 businesses that benefited from cost savings of over £11M and additional sales of over £1.5M. During this period the companies also benefited from the landfill diversion of 156,375tpa of resources, virgin material savings 189,805tpa and a reduction in CO2e of 193,993tpa. With the cessation of NISP government funding, Vishwa joined a start-up company and subsequently spent the next 10 years helping a series of companies to achieve their growth ambitions.

Vishwa returned to ISL in October 2022 as a Senior Product Manager for SYNERGie®, focusing on being the link between the client and the SYNERGie® development team. In July 2023, Vishwa moved to the Commercial Team.

Before moving to the UK, Vishwa lived in Sri Lanka and Bahrain. He has a first-class honours degree in Aerospace Engineering from Kingston University and is a Master of Philosophy with a thesis titled ‘A generic waste-focused process improvement technique for SMEs: A cost-effective approach to waste minimisation.’ Vishwa also has a NVQ Level 4 in Management.
