The APMG Roundtable on Manufacturing Industrial Symbiosis
Chairman Peter Laybourn (who is also Chair of the UKMSN+ Advisory Group) will be speaking at the House of Commons at The All-Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group (APMG) roundtable on Manufacturing Industrial Symbiosis in collaboration with the UK Manufacturing Symbiosis Network plus (UKMSN+).
The event will be held on the 25th January 2022 and will be hosted by APMG co-chair Jack Dromey MP for Erdington and Shadow Cabinet Office Minister.
The aim
Peter will be talking about ISL’s international industrial symbiosis experience in nearly 50 countries based on NISP® and celebrating the 20th anniversary of NISP® which began in 2002.
Industrial symbiosis is an important part of circular economy and as we accelerate our race to net zero, resource efficiency becomes and increasingly valuable mechanism by which the manufacturing sector can reduce its carbon consumption. An industrial symbiosis approach looks beyond the traditional resource transactions and aims to create cross sectoral linkages, supporting the growth of skills and innovation. This roundtable will explore how this is being developed across the UK and internationally.
